BENSON, RAYE CARMEN - Raye Carmen Benson, 90 of Seal Cove, Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home Wednesday September 14, 2005. Born of the late Leavitt and Marguerite (Harvey) Benson in Seal Cove. Raye started his life's work of fishing at an early age, and enjoyed his many years as a fisherman until his retirement in 1980. He is survived by his daughter Edith Cook of Deep Cove, NB, his son Mr. (Buddy) William (Aneta) Benson of Seal Cove, NB, one sister Leah Patterson of St. Andrews, NB, one brother Mr. Lawrence (Geraldine) Benson of Seal Cove, one sister-in-law Mrs. Thelma Benson of Saint John, NB, two grandchildren Melinda Cook of Fredericton, NB, and Lawrence (Joan) Cook of Seal Cove, NB, three great grandchildren Allison, Hannah, and Wesley. He was predeceased by his wife Annie in 1999, one granddaughter Tanya in 1978 and one brother Harvey. Visiting hours will be held from the Seal Cove Baptist Church Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, the Funeral Service will be held from the church Saturday September 17th, 2005 at 1:30 PM, interment to follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Castalia.
