GALEY, A. CECILIA - The death of Ann Cecilia Galey of Sussex occurred August 10, 2005 at the Sussex Health Centre at the age of 98. Born at Johnville, NB a daughter of the late John J. and Margaret (Byers) McCann and wife of the late Henry Addy Galey. She is survived by her loving daughter Lois Galey, Sussex, brother Bob McCann, Saint John, daughter-in-law Elizabeth "Betty" Galey, Fredericton, grandchildren; Miriam Galey, Halifax, David (Kathy) Galey, Sussex, Sheila Galey, Halifax, Michael (girlfriend Sheila), Gagetown, John Galey, Halifax, Elaine MacInnis (Ian), Halifax and Kathryn Ann Collet (Roger), Fredericton, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Cecilia was predeceased by her son Rev Canon Leonard J. Galey, sisters Mary Bostwick, Frances Dunfield and Helen Rowan, brothers Stephen, William, Buster, Gerry and Leo McCann. The family would like to thank Dr. Sharon McCutcheon for all her care she has given over the years and special thanks go to caregivers Carol and Kim. Cecilia was active in her community and her church. She was a member of the Orange Order, The Women's Institute, the Anglican Church Women and most notably a lifetime member of The Hospital Auxiliary of the Saint John Regional Hospital. Cecilia will be remembered for her love for her family, her avid walking, her long life and her true sense of style. Cecilia spent the last years of her life in Sussex as she absolutely loved the country atmosphere, especially the fall colors and country drives. The family received visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506- 433-2133). The funeral service was held on Sunday August 14, 2005 at Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex at 2:00 PM with Reverend Allen Tapley officiating and Reverend Ellen Curtis assisting. The pallbearers were grandsons; David Galey, Michael Galey, John Galey, grandsons-in-law Roger Collet and Ian MacInnis. The organist was Mrs. Erma Macaulay who led the Trinity Church Choir in the singing of the Communion Hymns; Break Thou The Bread Of Life, Wonderful Words Of Life and Trusting Jesus. The Trio "Daybreak" (Kynda Bryant, Sheldon McLean and Bardy Egers) performed Nearer My God To Thee, In The Garden and Some Sweet Day.
