TRURO – The death of Gordon A. Burns, 94, of Truro, formerly of Amherst, occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 at the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Formerly employed with Robb's Engineering, he retired with 50 years of service. Gordon enjoyed playing cards, bingo and quilting.Gordon is survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Christina Tooke and a son Russell and daughter Margaret. Gordon's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (667-8777) from where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008 at 11 a.m., Rev. Charlotte Ross officiating. Burial in the Christ Church Parish Cemetery in the spring.
