BELZIL, GERALD MARIUS - On Sunday, September 25, 2005, Gerald Marius Belzil, loving husband of the Late Beatrice Pelttier-Richard (2000) and the Late Dora Gaudet (1978), passed away peacefully at St. John and St. Stephen Home. Born in Drummond, NB, he was the son of the Late Louis and Marie (Belanger) Belzil. He was a member of St. Rose Church, Saint John and was member of the Knights of Columbus. Gerald was a long time employee of Ocean Steel, retiring in 1980 as Erection Superintendent. He was an avid golfer and was a Member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club, and enjoyed wintering in Florida during his retirement years. Gerald is the loving father of Eugene (Karen) of Saint John, Maurice (Sheila) of Garnet Settlement, Linda "Lyn" Dunphy (Gerald) of Bridgewater, NS, Genevieve Hunter (Robert) of Rothesay, and son the Late Leonard (1997) and a brother to Marie and Remianne. Gerald will be sadly missed by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Antoinette and Lucille and his brothers Conrad, Bermance, Leonide, and Pius. Resting at Castle Funeral Home Fallsview Chapel, 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, 541 Milford Road, Saint John, Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 10 o'clock. Cremation with interment at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gerald to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
