LILLIAN - 1917 MURPHY

MURPHY, LILLIAN - 1917 - 2005. At Bathurst Regional Chaleur Hospital on Monday, September 26, at the age of 87, Mrs. Lillian Murphy, wife of late John P. Murphy passed away. Mrs. Lillian Murphy was from Black Rock; she was daughter of late Frank Whelton and late Evelyn Cushing. Lillian was born in Pokeshaw, NB, attended school in Pokeshaw and Salmon Beach. As a young girl, she worked in Bathurst, Montreal, and at the fish plant on Pokeshaw Beach. She was the 1st president of the St-Simon and St-Jude Catholic Woman's League and continued as an active life long member. She married John in 1940 and raised a large family. She is survived by six sons: Daniel (Wilma) from Black Rock, Gordon (Cheryl) from Bathurst, Roger (Ida) from Black Rock, Reg (Diane) from Black Rock, John (Julie) from Mississauga, Ont, Donald (Keri) from Ajax, Ont.; two daughters: Kathy (Don Mazerolle) from Saint John, Evelyn (Joe Kelly) from Charlottetown; one brother, Joe (Thelma) from Saint John; one sister: Marjorie from Halifax; 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons: Ernest and Brian and two infant sons; her grandson Ricky Mazerolle; her sister Edna; her brothers: Reg, Robert and Gerald The remains of Mrs. Murphy will be resting at LeGresley's Funeral Home in Grande-Anse from Wednesday, 2 p.m. The funeral mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grande-Anse Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. The funeral arrangements are in care of LeGresley's Funeral Home, Grande-Anse.
