ELLIOT, MADELINE GERTRUDE (MULLIN) - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, on November 4, 2005, Mrs. Madeline Gertrude Elliot, wife of the late Leigh Morris Elliot, of St. George, NB. Born in St. George, NB on August 29, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Michael Edwin and Naomi (Mahar) Mullin. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Madeline is survived by two sons, Michael (Cindy) of Back Bay and Daniel of Saint John; one daughter, Myrna Elliot of Ottawa; one step-daughter, Norma McPherson (Blake) of Houlton, Me.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary (Gail) Mullin of St. George; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Doug; six brothers, Hubert, Edwin, Joseph, John, Ralph and Paul; two sisters, Mary Stafford and Beatrice Lirette. Madeline was a woman who shot from the hip and told it like it was. She loved her work and her patients at Centracare. She was known for bringing her patients home for lunch. She was an avid crossword enthusiast and was a wonderful pickle maker. Madeline loved animals and being at home with her companion, Duffy. At Madeline's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. All are invited to St. George's Roman Catholic Church to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 9:00 am. A reception will follow the mass at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #40 St. George at 10:30 am. In Madeline's memory, donations to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, or St. George's Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to extend a special heart felt thanks to the staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital, 4CNorth, and the Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care that was given to their mother.
