DIXON, RICHARD JAMES - Richard James Dixon of Temperance Vale passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 9, 2005 after a two and a half year struggle with cancer. He was born on November 4, 1946 in Saint John, a son of the late George and Clara (Roberts) Dixon of Hampton. He was able to rise above the trials and burdens he endured and courageously lived his life to the fullest. Richard is survived by his wife, Gloria (Derrah) Dixon; a daughter, Tanya Dixon (Aaron) of Fredericton; a son, Jeff Dixon (Tanya) of Temperance Vale; grandchildren Katie, Bailey and Connor; two brothers, Carl and David (Irene); three sisters, Sandra Gillis (Fred), Joanne Rossiter (Clayton) and Susan Kelly (Leo), all of Hampton; several nieces and nephews. He was employed as a Mechanical Foreman at the St. Anne-Nackawic mill until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church, the Royal Canadian Legion, Lr. Southampton Branch and a proud supporter of Ducks Unlimited. Richard was an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman and snowmobiler and enjoyed spending time at his camp on the Nashwaak with family and friends. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church, 1125 Route 605, Maple Ridge on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 3 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Blinn officiating. Cremation will follow with interment at the Maple Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
