With deepest sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of Owen Patrick Crotty on Friday, July 18, 2008 at the age of 63 years at the L.A. Miller Centre Palliative Care Unit, after a lingering illness that he bore courageously to the very end. Left to mourn are his two sons: Jason (wife Michline) and Trevor; his two precious grandchildren: Gabe and Shae, all residing in Edmonton, Alberta; his sister Sheila Chaytor (Reg) and their children. Also leaving to mourn his "special mother" Helen Taylor of London, Ontario and her family. Remembered also by his loving and devoted friend Sandra Thomson, her family Valerie (Dan), Michele, Craig; grandchildren: Christopher, Heidi, Adele, Kory and Ethan. Mourning also will be members of the Crotty Family, and his many friends and acquaintances whose friendships he treasured. Special thanks to Drs. Keret and Vino Patel, Dr. Kara Laing and Dr. Fiona O'Shea for their care and compassion. Special thanks also to Kev and Donna Barron for their total support. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. from St. Teresa's Church. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, because of Owen's deep love for children, donations to the Children's Wish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
