SHONAMAN, DONALD JOSEPH - Affectionately known as Shonnie, Donnie passed away surrounded by his family in the Palliative Care unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 10th, 2005. He was the beloved husband of Doreen (Dobbin) and cherished father of Paul (Sue Horton), Mary Lynn Muir (Tim), Glen (Jan Harris), and Holly (Lonny Rosen). He was the adored Grampy of Jason and Erin Muir, Anthony and Justin Shonaman, and Nathan and Evan Rosen. Also survived by his cousin Bobby Veniot, his brother Douglas (Audrey) and his sister Dorothy Darnley. A painter by trade and an avid woodworking hobbyist, Donnie was a lifelong member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 1151. His fun-loving ways, quick smile and laughter will be forever treasured by his fishing buddies, card partners and dart pals alike. Visitations were held Saturday and Sunday at Fundy Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, to St. Joachim's Church today at 11:00, followed there by a reception. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, the SJRH Palliative Care unit, or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
