JOHN DOUGLAS SIMONDS
SIMONDS, JOHN DOUGLAS - It is with great sadness that the family of Doug Simonds announces his death on December 5, 2005, unexpectedly at his home in Hemmingford, Quebec at the age of 63. Doug is survived by his loving wife Margaret Ann (Reicker) of 38 years. He was born to the late William and Ruth Simonds (Henry) and grew up in Saint John, NB. He moved to Quebec where he taught and raised his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his wife, son James (Katherine), daughter Lori-Ann, son John (Melanie), grandchildren Emily and William. He also leaves behind Karen and Krista, loving brothers Clayton (Marilyn), Wayne (Lynne) and Robert, sister Cheryl (Jack Shields), sister-in-law Patsy Loughery, brother-in-law Doug Reicker (Pat) and several nieces and nephews. Doug was an avid golfer and hockey enthusiast, thoroughly enjoyed his summer residence in West Quaco, and though retired from teaching after 32 years, he never passed up the opportunity to share his knowledge or his sense of humour. J.M. Sharpe Funeral Home, 461 Champlain Street, Hemmingford, QC is the site for visitation on Saturday, December 10, 2005 from 1-5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Canadian Diabetic Association or Ormstown CVR Memorial Scholarship Fund. Phone 450-827-2335 or fax: 514-376-1140 to place.
