SPEAR, EDWARD HARVIE SR. - Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on January 4, 2006, Mr. Edward Harvie Spear Sr., in his 76th year, loving husband of Frances (Leighton) Spear. Born at Seeley's Cove, NB on January 16, 1930, he was a son of the late Charles and Elva (Harvie) Spear. Loving husband of 51 years to Frances; father of Edward Jr. (Cheryl) of St. George, Cindy Spear-Ross (Steve) of NSW, Australia, Terry (Teena) of Seeley's Cove, NB; grandfather of Leanne Greenlaw, Jamie Spear, Aaron Polley, Devin Spear, Kara Spear, and Angela Ross; great-grandfather of Tyra Greenlaw; brother of Charles (Elizabeth) Spear of Saint John. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins including special cousin, Lorena Heutis of Scotchtown, NB and special niece, Carla Olive of Saint John. He was predeceased by one brother, Gerald Spear. Edward was a fisherman of the Bay of Fundy for 62 years. He loved the outdoors and traveling to warmer places such as Australia and Florida. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him. The family will receive friends at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Edward's life will be held at the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church on Sunday at 2:30 pm with Rev. Bruce Cheney officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church or the Saint John Regional Hospital Dialysis Teaching Department would be greatly appreciated by the family.
