H. WALDON BRIGGS

BRIGGS, H. WALDON - The death of Waldon Briggs of Sheffield, NB, occurred unexpectedly on Friday, January 20th, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital Fredericton, NB. Born December 28, 1928 at Randall Corner, NB. He was the son of the late Frank and Mary (McCoy) Briggs. Waldon retired in 1993 after 28 years with Cement Cartage. He was a past member of Elks Club, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 15. Dad was a very kind and loving father, grandfather, husband and a friend to all who knew him. Survived by his wife Wanita (Sowers, Banks); his daughter, Deborah McEachern of Rothesay, NB; granddaughters Shyanne (Stephen) Gray of Maine, Michelle (Barry) Tidd of Oromocto; two great granddaughters, Megan and Jaden Gray; three great grandsons, Taylor, Matthew and Ethan Tidd; four step-sons, Gregory Banks of BC, Geoffrey (Alanna) Banks of ON, Darren (Isabelle) Banks of Sheffield, NB and Shawn (Stacey) Banks of ON; two step- grandsons, Benjamin and Alexander Banks of Sheffield, NB; two nephews: Kimberley Briggs (Annita) of Hampton and Derrick Briggs (Ruth) of NWT. Predeceased by his first wife Shirley (Banks) in 1990, one brother Marvin Briggs in 1972, and son-in-law Jack McEachern in 2005. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21st, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Sunday, January 22nd, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Eileen Irish will officiate. Interment will be in the Sheffield United Church Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetic Association or Shirley Briggs Memorial Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice. www.mcadamsfh.com
