JOSIAH RAYBURN CROSSMAN
CROSSMAN, JOSIAH RAYBURN - Peacefully at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on January 22, 2006, Mr. Josiah (Joe) Rayburn Crossman, husband of Mary Theresa Orise (Maillet) Crossman of St. George and formerly of Blacks Harbour NB. born at Parsborro NS on February 29, 1924 he was a son of the late Edward and Maude (Darcy) Crossman. A loving husband, father and grandfather Joe is survived besides his wife, by three sons; Francis Maillet of Blacks Harbour, Perry (Susan) Crossman of Deer Island NB and Adrian (Cheryl) Crossman of Saint John NB. Eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers; Lawrence and Heman and two sisters; Edith and Minie. Joe was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the Canadian Infantry of the Queens Own Rifle Brigade. He worked for Connors Brothers Limited as a foreman of the machine shop and decorator operations until his illness in 1978. He loved carpentry and building boats and loved to hunt, as well he was past president of the Royal Canadian Legion #39 in Blacks Harbour. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage St. with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12 Noon at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church in Blacks Harbour. Interment in the church cemetery in the spring. There will be a Legion Tribute at the funeral home on Monday at 7pm. Donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
