GERRISH, ARNOLD HENRY - (1924-2006) Passed away suddenly on Monday evening, January 30, 2006, while at home in Luther Village on the Park, Waterloo, Ontario at the age of 81. Arn was greatly loved by his wife Jackie and was an exceptional father to his son Greg, daughter Nancy and her husband Mart of Toronto. He will be greatly missed by nephew James Gerrish and wife Carolyn, and nephew Allison Gerrish and wife Karen of Sussex, New Brunswick, his niece Patrice Gerrish and sister-in-law Doris Gerrish of Sisson Brook, New Brunswick, and brother-in-law Roger Wuilleumier of Roxboro, Quebec. Arn is predeceased by his parents Otto and Harriet Gerrish of Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, brother Donald of Sisson Brook, New Brunswick and sister Bette Wuilleumier. Arn was born in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick and graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1945 with a Bachelor of Engineering (electrical). Arn joined Montreal Engineering Company Limited in January 1949 and retired as a Vice President in 1984. He held many overseas assignments including in El Salvador, India and Iran, and traveled extensively across the world. Arn and Jackie moved from Montreal to Luther Village on the Park, Waterloo, Ontario in May 1998 and became members of Trinity United Church, and the Mr. and Mrs. Club at Trinity. Arn was also a member of the Retired Business and Professional Men's Club, and the Amateur Radio Club where he particularly enjoyed his Wednesday morning coffee group. At Arn's request there is no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private family service is being held at the graveside. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
