LAHEY, VIOLA L. - 92.; of North Head passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Wednesday afternoon February 1st, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born in Woodwards Cove she was the daughter of the late George and Hattie Ingersoll. Before retiring Mrs. Lahey was a Cook at the Grand Manan Nursing Home for several years, a member of the Church of the Ascension, also a member of the Ladies Guild and served as president for several terms over the years, a dedicated Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, Grand Manan. Mrs. Lahey is survived by one daughter Barbara ( Allison ) Ingalls, Grand Manan, one son Everett ( Shirley-Ann ) of Rothesay, two sisters Hazel Lahey of St. George, Twilah Leonard of Florida and South West Harbour, Maine. Four Grand Children Geoffery Lahey , Beverley ( Bethany ) Ingalls, Derrick ( Anne ) Lahey, Wade ( Darla ) Ingalls, six Great Grand Children, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lahey was predeceased by three sisters Erma, Marjorie, and Lois. Four brothers Sherwood, Richard, Kermin, and Weldon. The family will receive friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Thursday 7-9 PM, Friday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Church of the Ascension on Saturday, February 4th, at 1:30 PM with Rt. Rev. Bishop George Lemmon officiating with interment to follow in the North Head Community Cemetery. A reception hosted by the Ladies Guild of the Church of the Ascension at the Church Hall immediately following the service.
