Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, July 18, 2008, Calvin (Cal) Keefe, retired businessman of Coley's Point, aged 75 years. Predeceased by parents Augustus and Ethel Keefe, brother Irving and sisters, Ada, Mary, Irene, Marina and Edythe. Leaving to mourn his wife of nearly 50 years, Edna (nee Scott). Sons: Scott (Deborah), Georgetown, Ont., Michael, Scarborough, Ont., Rodney (Michelle), Iqualuit, NU; daughter Andrea (Fred) Simms, Coley's Point; 3 sisters: Gwen Miles, Elsa (Roy) Batten, Jeannette Keefe; one brother Raymond (Dorothy) Keefe. Sister-in-law Phyllis Keefe; 5 grandchildren: Cameron and Ryan Simms, Emma, Anna and Mitchell Keefe; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, business acquaintances and friends. Resting at Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Visitation Saturday: 7 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. from St. John the Evangelist Church, Coley's Point. Interment in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Coley's Point. No flowers by request.
