ARTHURS, DONALD JAMES - The death of Mr. Donald James (Donnie) Arthurs, loving husband of Sharon (Estabrooks) Arthurs occurred on Wednesday February 15, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1937 in Saint John he was the son of Ella (Alward) Arthurs of Hamilton and the late Daniel Arthurs. Donnie worked as a Marine/Air Radio Operator, Vessel Traffic Supervisor with the Canadian Coast Guard. Besides his loving wife and mother he is survived by sons Chris (Sheryl) of Greenville, S.C. and Paul (Melba) of Ottawa; daughter Debbie Mawhinney (Bob) of Dipper Harbour; grandchildren Andrew, April, Peter, Rachel, Christopher, Michael, Timothy, Tiffany and Janelle; brother Joseph (Sonny) Arthurs (Dawn) of Saint John; sister Connie Tingley (Walter) of Hamilton; half brother Royden Arthurs (Marjorie) of Saint John; half sister Dorothy Thomson of Halifax; brother-in-law Murray McDonald of Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his father he was predeceased by sister Joan McDonald and half sister Alice Cole. By Donnie's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitations. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday February 20, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from Fundamental Baptist Church on the corner of Bleury and Danell Drive. The family would appreciate donations made to Windcrest Bible Camp, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
