CLARENCE EBEN SABEAN
SABEAN, CLARENCE EBEN - Clarence Eben, 77, Tiverton, went home to be with the Lord, suddenly on February 14, 2006, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, V.G. Site. Born in Lynn, Mass., he was the son of the late George and Bessie (Outhouse) Sabean. Clarence was a beloved husband and father. He was a member and Deacon of the Tiverton Baptist Church and a member of the Super Seniors Club, Tiverton. He was an avid gardener, sailor, swimmer and bowler. Clarence loved spending winters in Florida and the trips down Splash Mountain with his grandchildren. He was an alumni of St. Francis Xavier (BSc) and UNB (P.Eng. and B.Ed). He was member of the Association of Professional Engineer of the Province of New Brunswick and in 1994 he was granted life membership in recognition of his service for 47 years. He started his career with St. John Power Co. and with NB Power. He worked for New Brunswick Community College where he taught and developed a program for them in the field of engineering. He was a professor at the University of Moncton. Clarence was a consultant for Point La Pro and held a Senior Managing Position with New Brunswick's Department of Education for several years, where he was responsible for the Community Colleges in the Province. After retiring he returned to the University of New Brunswick as a manager of the physical planet. Surviving are his wife, Joan; children Holly Sabean, Fredericton, NB; Wendy Sabean, Burlington, Ont.; Kevin Sabean (Ellen) Fredericton, NB; Brent Sabean, Moncton; step-children Preston (Janet) Dutcher; Peggy (Richard) Meyer; Wyatt (Rhonda) Dutcher; Marshall (Debbie) Dutcher; Lloyd (Karen) Dutcher; and Randy (Kim) all of Fredericton; grandchildren Jennifer, Matthew, Craig, Zachary, Ashley, Tommy; step-grandchildren Shannon, Charlotte, Wayne, Sherry, Skylar, Justin, Savannah, Chelsy, Kyle, Alysia, Amanda and Denise; great grandchild Gabriel; step great grandchildren Joleigh, Mackenzie, Aalyia and Jenna; brother George (Faith) Sabean, Saint John, NB; nephews Jonathan and Andrew. Visitation will be after 2pm today in Tiverton Baptist Church and from where funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, Rev. Robert McCormack officiating. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Family flowers only donations may be to the Tiverton Baptist Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia.
