ESTABROOKS, VIOLA - Sackville. The death of Viola Estabrooks, age 91, of Sackville, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 23, 2006. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (Wry) Saunders. Viola was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. A member of the Past Noble Grands Club and the Moncton Branch of the Loyal True Blue Association. Viola will be sadly missed by her daughter, Bessie May Dunick of Halifax; a sister, Marie Bickerton, Canning, NS; a step son, Irvine (Shirley) Estabrooks, of Greely, ON, and two grandsons, Leith of Halifax and Gordon Dunick of Vancouver, BC; 3 step-grandchildren, Wendy Oswald of Ottawa, ON, Alan Estabrooks of Hamilton, and John Estabrooks of Ottawa. Predeceased by her first husband, Bill Ripley in 1944 in Normandy, her second husband, John Estabrooks in 2001; 3 brothers, Ralph, Clarence (Bud), and Jack, and a sister, Dorothy Hall. The remains have been entrusted to the care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 27, 2006 at 2 pm, Rev. Rick Marsters officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.
