PEARL M. (FRASER) WRIGHT
WRIGHT, PEARL M. (FRASER) - The death of Pearl M. (Fraser) Wright, widow of Perley C. Wright, occurred unexpectedly at Loch Lomond Villa on March 10, 2006. Pearl is survived by one daughter Marilyn (Mrs. Neall Stevens) and her husband of Red Deer, Alberta and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Perley C. Wright, one brother Eldon H. Fraser, Saint John, NB, and a sister Edna C. Pudsey, St. Martins, NB. Born in Saint John of the late Theodore and the late Roberta (Brown) Fraser, she was a resident of this city, and was living in Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, NB at the time of her death. Pearl was very active in the work of the Carleton United Church prior to its amalgamation with the Carleton-Kirk. Pearl was a member of the choir for nearly 50 years, and at one time also served as its president. She was Church representative to the Maritime Conference and the Saint John Presbytery for a number or years, and served on various committees. She taught in Sunday School for many years, and was leader in the Mission Band and Canadian Girls in Training, and was also a charter member of the Fireside Unit United Church Women. Since Pearl, with her husband, moved to Loch Lomond Villa to live in 1986, her ministry in the Chapel and as a volunteer in Pastoral Care has been exemplary. She has been active in Loch Lomond Villa in many capacities and has visited the sick and infirm as a friend. She and her husband were interested in travel and visited many countries after his retirement from the Federal Revenue Service. Resting at the Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. from where the service will be held on Wednesday March 15, 2006 at 2 pm. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Greenwood Cemetery, 1650 Manawagonish Rd, Saint John, NB. Visiting hours 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Tuesday March 14, 2006. In lieu of flowers, which are gratefully declined, memorial donations to the Loch Lomond Villa Chapel Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
