Florence "Claire" (Bub) Henderson Churchill (nee Archibald), 96, of Riverview and formerly of Sackville passed away peacefully on February 11, 2007 at the Moncton Hospital with her loving family by her side. Claire was born in Lawrencetown, N.S. on September 5, 1910, the daughter of the late Isaac Chipman and Clara Amelia Archibald (nee Daniels). A 1930 BA graduate of Acadia, Claire was the Assistant Librarian at Nova Scotia Technical College where she met her husband Edgar H. Henderson. She was a member of the IODE, Home and School Association and Fort Massey United Church. The family moved from Halifax to Sackville, N.B. in 1947 where Claire continued to be active in the Home and School Association. She was also president and charter member of the Ladies Curling Club, president of the Hospital Auxiliary Association, member of the CFUW, Sackville Art Association, Sackville United Church and its UCW number 7. Claire also worked many years at the Mount Allison University Library until her retirement in 1975. She will live on in the hearts of her family forever. She will be deeply missed by her loving family, daughter Pat Hess (Ian) of Riverview; twin sons James Henderson (Sharon) of Riverview and David Henderson (Barbara) of Ontario; her eight grandchildren and her precious 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her younger brother Edward C. Archibald; husbands Edgar H.Henderson and Gordon L. Churchill. Honoring Claire's own wishes, cremation is to take place. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held in Sackville at a later date.
