GREEN, IVAN NOEL - After a lengthy illness, Mr. Ivan N. Green of Ingalls Head, Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital, Tuesday March 21st, 2006. He was the son of the late Gleason and Lulu (Wilcox) Green of Grand Manan Island. Ivan left the Island when he was seventeen to pursue a career as an engineer working on various tug boats and ships in the waters off British Columbia and the North West Territories. In the early 1970's he returned to Grand Manan and was a hard working boat owner and fisherman in the lobster and scallop fishery until his retirement. He was active in the Grand Manan Rotary Club and also past President of the Grand Manan Fisherman's Association. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Betty R. Green, one step daughter Pat (Wayne) Pratt, Renfrew ON, one step son Robbie (Rose) Robinson, CFB Esquimault, BC. Three sisters Mrs. Mona Ross, Toronto, ON, Mrs. Gleneta Hettrick, Grand Harbour, NB, Mrs. Rowena (Burton) Small, Woodwards Cove, NB, one brother Mr. Otis (Marjorie) Green, Grand Harbour, NB, one foster brother Mr. Payson Green, Deer Island, NB and also several nieces and nephews. Mr. Green was predeceased by one sister Queenie, and two brothers, Donnie and Pearley. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2006 from the Grand Harbour Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ron Ford officiating and Pastor Gordon Walker assisting. The family has requested donations may be made to the IVAN GREEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND, the GRAND MANAN MUSEUM or CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY.
