STANDING, DAVID RUPERT - 71, of Riverview, NB, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2006 at The Moncton Hospital due to complications from pulmonary fibrosis. Born October 6, 1934 in North Sydney, NS, he was the son of the late Thomas and Etta (Adams) Standing. Dave will be sadly missed by Trudy (Grant), his wife of 44 years, daughter, Paula Somers, (James) of Oakville, ON; two sons, Wayne (Tammie) of Lumberton, Texas, Dale (Louise) of Fredericton, NB; six grandchildren whom he adored, Katie, Jordan, Jennifer, Bradley, Nathan, and Noah; three sisters, Alma Harvey (Earle) from Niagara on the Lake, ON, Etta MacSween, Charlottetown, PE, and Alice Standing, North Sydney, NS, two brothers, Nathan (Ella) and Philip of North Sydney, NS, and by several nieces and nephews. Beside his parents he was predeceased by four sisters, Mildred, Violet, Esther, Gladys and two brothers, Norman and Roy. Dave retired from Transport Canada with 33 years of service. He attended St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Riverview, and was a former volunteer for the Codiac RCMP, former member of the Bicentennial Skating Club and a member of Charlie's Angles Round Dance Club. At Dave's request, there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Canon Albert Snelgrove officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room of the funeral home.
