STEVENS, ROY JOSEPH - The funeral service for Roy Joseph Stevens was held from Fundy Funeral Home to Stella Maris Church where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday April 27, 2006. The mass was celebrated by Father William Weiss con celebrated by Father Doug McNeil and assisted by the gentlemen altar servers of Stella Maris Church. The Ministry of Music was preformed by Peter MacDonald and Theresa Patterson. The readings were proclaimed by Melanie Creamer and Frances Guthrie. Honorary Pallbearers were Matthew Stevens, Kevin Cole and Keith Cole. The active Pallbearers were Kenneth Cole, Sonny Creamer, Mark LeBlanc, Christopher Stevens, Andrew Stevens and Stephen Barry. Floral tributes received included those from Local 2291, Irving Oil Technology Group, Black Sox as well as those from family and friends. Donations in memory of Roy were made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation including those from NBPEA Local # 6 and Board and Staff of Family Plus; Canadian Cancer Society; Saint John Regional Hospital including one from Management and Staff of Fundy Linen Services; Children's Wish Foundation; Extra Mural Program Saint John Unit; VON; New Dawn Community Inc.; St. James Church Lakewood; Gideon Memorial Bible Plan; Mass and Sympathy Cards. Following cremation a private family interment took place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
