SACKVILLE, N.B. - The death of Jean Chambers, age 87, of Sackville, wife of George Chambers, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville on Saturday, March 2, 2007. Born in Moncton, she was a daughter of the late Murray and Ina (Maxwell) Maxwell. Jean was a member of the Sackville United Church and long time member of the church choir. As well, she served the community as a Kinette and member of the Fort Beausejour Chapter of the IODE. She was an avid golfer, curler and bowler and excelled in games of strategy and language. During the '60s she worked with the Maritime Conference of the United Church of Canada. She will be sadly missed by her husband, George Chambers; her sons, Chris and David (Nancy) of Sackville; four grandchildren, Anne, Robert, Keltie and Matthew; two great grandchildren, Cassidy and Nathan; one brother, James (Eileen) Maxwell, Amherst. She was predeceased by sisters Irene McKenna and Barbara Tower and a brother Donald Maxwell. The remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, N.B. (364-1300), from where a memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 7, at 2 p.m., Rev. John Perkin officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.
