SACKVILLE, N.B. - The death of Leah Richard, age 100, of Sackville, occurred suddenly at the Drew Nursing Home on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007. Born in Sackville, she was a daughter of the late William and Joseline (LeBlanc) Richard. Leah, a lifelong resident of Sackville was well known through her over 40 years of employment at Trenholm's Ladies Shop. She was a member of St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church. Celebrating her 100th birthday in 2007, she is the last surviving member of her immediate family and will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Edgar, Dital and Willie; and by sisters, Beatrice, Frances, Edmay and Rosalie. Leah's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300). By her request, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. from St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, Father Allison Carroll officiating. A time of reception followed the service. Burial in the parish cemetery.
