THOMAS, THELMA PEARL (1921-2006) - Thelma Pearl Thomas, 84 years, of Fredericton, passed away at her residence on Saturday, June 3rd, 2006. Born in Hartland, NB, she was the daughter of the late James Miller and Minerva Grant. She was a retired member of the nursing profession, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an active member of ACW in various communities and also a founding member of the NB Mental Health Association. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda J. Thomas of Fredericton, NB (with whom recently resided), Sandy Surette (Blair) of Saint John, NB; grandchildren, Grant, Andrew and Travis; sisters, Elise Briggs and Florence Carey both of Hartland, NB; brother, James Miller (Pauline) of Hartland, NB; sisters-in-laws, Mary Thomas, Lillian (Bob) Epton, and Lydia Keith all of Saint John, NB, Marion Thomas of Whitby, ON, and Anne Miller of Halifax, NS; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent R. Thomas in 1998; sister, Goldie; and brothers, Arthur, Roy, Charles, Myles, Guy and Gordon. Resting at The Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Road, on Tuesday June 6th, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 2pm from St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Riverview with Canon Albert Snelgrove officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery. Donations in Thelma's memory to the Alzheimer Society, NB Heart Stroke Foundation, or the St. John the Baptist Anglican Church Building Fund would be appreciated by her family.
