HARTLEY, HATTIE MAE - It is with great sadness that the family of Hattie Mae Hartley, wife of the late Allan Hartley, announce her passing in her 96th year on Saturday June 3, 2006, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1910 in Chance Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Melvina (Belding) Toner. She resided in Nova Scotia for many years, prior to returning to Saint John in 1993. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons The Rev. Dr. John Hartley (Barbara) of Toronto and Robert (Carol) Hartley of Dartmouth; four sisters Kay, Thelma, Eva and Beryl; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Blair and Alfred (Elsie), and her two brothers and five sisters. She was an active member for many years of the United Church and was made a Life Member of the United Church Women. By request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at Silver Falls United Church on Friday June 9, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the church hall. A private family interment will take place in Dartmouth, NS at a later date.
