LAYDEN, AUGUSTINE M. - Augustine M. Layden of Saint John, formerly of Toronto passed away Friday, June 9, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Saint John at the age of 85. Born in Goshen, Albert County, he was the son of the late Irvine and Bridget (Breen) Layden. He is survived by four daughters, Bridget Riley (Peter) and Eva Riley (Kevin) both of Saint John, Michaelene Foster (Bill) of Peterborough, ON and Mary Ihasz (Joe) of Oshawa, ON; a son, Douglas (Jennie) of Toronto, ON; two sisters, Sister Margaret and Sister Virginia, both of Saint John; two brothers, Father Donald Layden of Welland, ON and Kenneth Layden of Saint John; also 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Eva (Brown); a granddaughter, Sherry; and several brothers and sisters. Visiting hours will be held from Armstrong's Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, on Monday from 7 to 9pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Mass will be held from the Church of the Most Precious Blood in Goshen on Wednesday, June 14, 2005 at 11:00 am, with Father Donald Layden officiating.
