HELLINGWERF, ADA MARGARETHA (ZIFF) - of Rothesay passed away at the SJRH on July 9, 2006. She was born in Amsterdam in 1930, and immigrated to Canada in 1954 with her husband, Stefanus. Ada was actively involved in the executives of the NB Speed Skating Association and the Saint John Speed Skating Association. One of the highlights was watching her daughter coach the US Olympic Speed Skating team in the 2002 Winter Olympics. She loved camping and traveling with her family, she was a volunteer at the Kennebecasis Library and bowled Wednesday afternoons at KV Bowling. Ada was the daughter of the late Israel Wolf Ziff & Sellie (Schnitzler) Ziff and wife of the late Stefanus Hellingwerf. Ada is survived by one son; Michael Hellingwerf (Margaret) of Rothesay, one daughter; Susan Ellis (Glen) of Rothesay, and three grandchildren; Matthew, Brittany and Sarah Hellingwerf. Resting at A. W. Cavanagh Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) with visitation on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A celebration of life will be held in Cavanagh's Chapel on Wednesday July 12, 2006 at 10:00 am followed by internment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
