ANTON LEMUEL (1926 PRAY
PRAY, ANTON LEMUEL (1926 - 2006) passed away at Grand Falls General Hospital on Monday, September 25, 2006 with his family at his side. He was born at Portland, Maine on April 5, 1926 to the late Edna (Johansen) Carroll and the late Phillip Pray. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion Elizabeth (Christensen) and his mother, Edna (Johansen) Carroll, step- father, Lawrence Carroll and father, Phillip Pray. Anton is survived by his children, Kathy (Brian) McKenna of Willowdale, Ontario, Stephen (Sharon) and Susan (John) Kukurski of New Denmark, NB, Joy (Wilson) Briggs of Sisson Ridge, NB and Joanne of Edmonton, Alberta, grand- children, Colin and Emily McKenna, Chris and Sarah (Pray) Shirley, Ben Kukurski, Amy, Beverly and Jennifer Briggs, great grandchildren, Connor and Aaron Pray, Matthew and Taylor Kukurski. Anton was dedicated to his family, community and business. He was employed by Canada Packers for 12 years. Along with partners he began New Denmark Potato Growers. He formed A.L. Pray & Son Potato Company Ltd. in 1974, supplying markets throughout North America with seed and table potatoes as well as seed potatoes for the Cuban market. Anton was a seed grower, potato shipper, distributor and a dedicated man with vision and leadership. He was a Director and Past President of the NB Potato Shippers Association, an active member of the NB Potato Exporters Association, the Farm Products Marketing Commission, Board member of the NB Potato Agency and Director of the Canadian Business Development Commission. Anton was a dedicated member of the community, serving on various organizations: St. Peter's Lutheran Church, New Denmark Seniors Complex, New Denmark Ski Lodge, New Denmark Recreation Council, Colebrooke Lodge No. 39, F. & A.M. A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Anton leaves a legacy of love, friendship, business and service. He will be sadly missed by his family. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. His funeral will be held Thursday, September 28th at 2 p.m. from St. Peter's Lutheran Church, New Denmark, with Pastor David Knudson officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
