BECK, DOUGLAS W. (DOUGIE) (1929 - 2006) - Douglas W. Beck (Dougie), 77 of Rexton, NB, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Friday, September 29th, 2006 after having suffered a stroke at his home on Thursday. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rexton on March 27th, 1929 he was the son of the late William Beck and Minnie (Wilson) Beck. He Is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley (Cairns) Beck; his son Byron and his wife Lisa of Rothesay; his daughter, Darcy LeBlanc and her husband, Stephen of Richibucto. He is also survived by two loving grandchildren, Jacob (Byron), and Morgan (Darcy) and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Doug was predeceased by six brothers, Earl, Sherman, Harrison, Bonar, Kenneth and Ronnie; and two sisters, Maude and Vera. Doug spent his entire working career working for the Province of New Brunswick, Department of Transportation, as a Maintenance Supervisor, building and maintaining bridges across our province for 44 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Richibucto. The family will be having visitation for family and friends at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto on Monday evening from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Committal will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm, at St. Andrew's United Church Cemetery, Rexton, NB. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.
