PETER (1949-2006) WHITE

WHITE, PETER (1949-2006) - Peter Francis White, Mayor of the village of Plaster Rock, passed away at the Edmundston Regional Hospital on October 4, 2006 after a period of failing health. Born in Ottawa, on August 25, 1949, he was the son of the late Gerald and Dora (Edgar) White. Peter was a well known businessman from the Plaster Rock area. In 1996, he broke ground to build The Settler's Inn and Motel. In 2004, Peter ran for and won the post of village mayor. He was very active on many committees as his capacity as mayor, among them the School Parent Advisory Committee and also the Tobique Valley Hospital Committee. Peter was very active in assuring the finances for the new Plaster Rock arena. Peter leaves behind his wife, Janice White (Anthony); his children, Jennifer White and Colin White, both at home; his nephews, Jason and Shawn White, both of Ottawa; his dear Aunt, Margaret Johnson of Plaster Rock, and many cousins. Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his brother, Gerald White Jr. Visitation will be held on Thursday 7 to 9 pm at the Plaster Rock Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 3 pm from the Family Worship Center. Rev. Lorne Freake officiating. Interment to follow at a later date.
