MYRNA DORINE COUGHLAN

COUGHLAN, MYRNA DORINE - 1922-2006. Miss Myrna Coughlan, of Blackville passed away at the Miramichi Hospital on Monday October 16, 2006 at the age of 84, after a lengthy illness. Born in Blackville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Sturgeon) Coughlan. She was a teacher and taught at various schools in New Brunswick, the last school being Saint John High School, and she was also a high school supervisor for then district 10. Myrna was an honorary life member of the retired teachers and attended St. Andrew's United Church in Blackville. Myrna is survived by two sisters, Margaret O'Neil of Fredericton, Mamie Coughlan of Blackville; one brother, Robin (Ardyth) of Lakeville Corner N.B. and several nieces and nephew. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Pauline Sturgeon; three brothers, Leland, Aubrey and Elgee. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Slumber Room in Blackville on Wednesday October 18, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday October 19, 2006 at 2 pm, at St. Andrew's United Church in Blackville with Rev. Penny Postlethwaite officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to the St. Andrew's United Church Building Fund or to a memorial of the donor's choice. The funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant St. telephone 622-7741.
