SECORD, GRACE - The death of Grace V. Secord formerly of Sussex, wife of the late W. Gordon Secord occurred peacefully on October 17, 2006 at her home in Springfield surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dutch Valley in 1914, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Ida Mae (Brown) McElroy. She was a member of the Lower Millstream United Baptist Church. Grace will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, a retired teacher and an active member of her church and community. She was a life member of the United Baptist WMS and the NB Women's Institute. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Doris Jessie and daughter, Dr. Elizabeth M. Calder. She is survived by daughters, Ruth MacLean (Garry) of Moncton, Susan Lutes (Peter) of Shediac and Margaret Vallis (William) of Springfield; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Thursday 6 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service conducted by Reverend Allison MacLean will be held on Friday October 20, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Lower Millstream United Baptist Church.
