GRACE BLANCHE (1916-2006) JOHNSTON
JOHNSTON, GRACE BLANCHE (1916-2006) - Grace Johnston, 90 of Bayview Special Care Home, Kars, passed away peacefully to her reward at her residence on Friday, October 20, 2006. Born in Dunsinane on July 7, 1916, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Blanche (McNair) Johnson. Grace was educated at the Jordan Mountain School, the Provincial Normal School, Mount Allison University, University of New Brunswick and Acadia University. Grace received her BA and BEd degrees. She taught 25 successful years in the public schools of New Brunswick and due to failing health of her parents; Grace decided to remain at home after 1967. Grace is survived by her brother, Murray (Erna); as well by her nephews, Glendon and Wayne Tait of Jordon Mountain and by a host of good friends who will certainly miss her. Grace was of deep religious convictions and was greatly devoted to home and family. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, George and Frank Johnson; and by her sister, Mary Tait. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, and (506-433-1176). At Grace's request no visitation was held. A private Funeral Service was held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 1:00 pm. The Interment took place in the family mausoleum vault at Gosline Cemetery, Knightville.
