Passed away peacefully on July 20, 2008, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, Brendan Richard Tilley, BA, BSc, MA, age 61 years, son of the late Richard and Sheila Tilley, predeceased by his brother Richard (Rick), 1991. He leaves to mourn his son Brendan (Brenny), daughter-in-law Karen, grandson Brandon, sisters Heather Boggan (Wayne), Fatima Richards (Ken), Stephanie Leyte (Edward Sawdon), Jacqueline McAllister (Brian), many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; Uncle Charles Tilley, N.B.; Aunt Gladys Keaton, Texas; Uncle Bill Murphy, Gerard Murphy; special friends Pastor Bill Harnum and Derek Harding and his second family, the staff and residents of St. Patrick's Mercy Home, where he resided. A particular mention of gratitude to Reverend Father John Maddigan, Sister Monica Hickey and Kim Strickland, RN, BN of St. Patrick's Mercy Home. Remains will be resting at St. Patrick's Mercy Home Chapel Tuesday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at the chapel of St. Patrick's Mercy Home on Wednesday, July 23 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow as per Brendan's request. Inurnment at Mount Carmel Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his parents and brother. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Brendan's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the CNIB.
