DENTON, LAURA (1919-2006) - Passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday November 30, 2006. Wife of the late Captain Burnett Denton. Born in Grand Manan, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Maude Kinghorne. Laura was a volunteer for the Heart and Stroke foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society, but most of her time was spent with her family. She is survived by three sons, Dexter Denton and Krista, Walter Denton, Gary (Darlene) Denton and one daughter, Carmella (Laurie) Melanson as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will also be missed by one brother, Lawson, one sister, Thelma and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Captain Burnett and her parents, Laura was predeceased by a son, Melvin Ronald and one brother, Ronald Kinghorne. Resting at Castle Funeral Homes, Fallsview Chapel, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John (634-1701) with visitation on Saturday December 2, 2006 from 3-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Sunday December 3, 2006 from the Fallsview Chapel at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dave officiating.
