SCOVIL S. HOYT
HOYT, SCOVIL S. - The passing of Scovil S. Hoyt of Hoyt, NB, occurred Saturday, December 30, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was 80. Born April 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Bayard and Jennie Hoyt. Scovil was predeceased by his beloved wife Donna on September 12, 2001. Scovil is survived by his three sons, Donald (wife Bonnie, children Mark (Halifax), Jodi and Erin of Kanata, ON), Vern (children Tyler, Adam and Amanda of Regina, SK and Tracey of Nova Scotia) and Brent (wife Betty) of Saint John NB, and his brother, Jim (Joan) Hoyt and sister, Genia (John) Boudreau of Hoyt, NB and predeceased by his brother, Elliot Hoyt in 2005. Scovil worked in several fields including as a provincial health inspector and county treasurer, and spent the last 26 years of his career in Municipal and Provincial elections and retired as the Chief Electoral Officer for New Brunswick in 1991. Scovil was invited by the United Nations as a Canadian representative for the first democratic elections in both Namibia and Cambodia. Scovil served on several boards including the White Rapids Manor, Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and the Queens Sunbury West Ambulance Board. Receiving family and friends at the Sunbury Funeral Home in Central Blissville, NB Thursday, January 4th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 5th, 2007 at 2pm at the Blissville Baptist Church in Hoyt, NB. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the White Rapids Manor would be appreciated. The arrangements are entrusted to Sunbury Funeral Home, 5407 Route 101, Central Blissville, N.
