79, Sydney It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Vivian MacDonald, Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ida (Burton) Serrick. She is survived by daughters, Norma MacVay (Robert), Sydney, Diane Clarke (Bruce), Coxheath; sons, Gary (Isabel), Glace Bay, and Michael (Natasha), Dartmouth; and sister, Kay Rowe, Sydney. She is also survived by nine wonderful grandchildren, Kristopher, Lindsay, Scott, Ross, Kerry Jean (Gary), Heather, Neal, Kate and John; and great-grandson, Cameron. Besides her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her husband, John Pringle MacDonald in 2004, daughter, Barbara Ann, brothers, Robert, Richard and George Serrick, sisters, Dorthy Ryan and Mary Kaloc. Visitation will be held Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. in the chapel, with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating.
