SANSON, DR. JORGE BORRES JR. - Dr. Jorge Borres Sanson Jr. of Kentville, Nova Scotia, passed away Thursday, January 11th, 2007 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Cebu City, Philippines, he was the son of the late Jorge Sanson Sr. and Francisca Borres. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Southwestern University, Cebu, Philippines. He went on to train in surgery in New York (Mount Sinai Hospital, Montefiore Hospital, Veteran's Administration Hospital). He later practiced General, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the Lancaster Hospital, Saint John Regional Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital in Saint John, New Brunswick; Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, New Brunswick and Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville. Dr. Sanson was a dedicated physician who cared deeply about his patients and the staff he worked with. He was a kind, generous and gentle person. He is survived by his devoted wife, the former Audrey Nason; daughters, Joy Varona (Victor), Ottawa, Jessica Germain (Laurent), Vancouver, Janet Gannon (Patrick), Vancouver, Jean Johns (Joseph), Petawawa, Jackie Li (Gordon), Vancouver; grandchildren, Philip and Danielle Gannon, Nicolas and Melanie Germain, Keana and Kurtis Li and Lorenzo Johns. He is also survived by his sister, Eleanor Aznar (Matias IV); his brothers, Julian Sanson (Thelma), Sidronico Sanson (Maria); and numerous family members in the Philippines. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. There will be no visitation, by family request. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15th, 2007 in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Kentville, Father Craig Christenson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Salvation Army or St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
