Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, George A. Burden of Broad Cove, age 87 years. Predeceased by parents, Joseph and Laura; brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn, wife Myrtle; one daughter, Laura (Harold) Slade, Salmon Cove; four sons: Nelson (Mary), Salmon Cove, Robert (Daisy), Innisfil, Ont., Melvin (Elaine) and Bruce (Debbie), both of St. John's; step-son: Maxwell (Violet) White, Change Islands; 12 grandchildren: Ivan (Denice), Paul (Tina), Bradley (Kimberley), Paula (Ivan), Shelley (George), Lisa, Glenda, Robert (Diana), Colleen (Troy), Adam, Teri (John) and Zachary; two step-grandchildren: Kimberly and Dakota; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Leona Huggett, London, Ont.; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home Main Highway, Western Bay. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, July 26 at 2 p.m. from Ocean View United Church and Cemetery, Broad Cove.
