HELEN D. ANDERSON

ANDERSON, HELEN D. - Helen D. Anderson, wife of the late Lionel J Anderson and daughter of the late G. Herbert and Edna J. (Stewart) Lunnin, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 15, 2007. Born January 10, 1913 in Creelman, SK, she was raised by Uncle and Aunt Charles and Wilma Lunnin in Saint John. Helen attended Provincial Normal School and taught for one year in a one-room schoolhouse. She was a seamstress for many years working from home. She later returned to the teaching profession teaching at Bayview, Woodlawn and Forest Hills schools. Helen was a member of many organizations among them the National Council of Women and the Local Council of Women, of which she was a life member. She was an honorary member of the New Brunswick Teachers Association and and a life member of the New Brunswick Society of Retired Teachers. She was also a member of the Murray MacLaren Chapter of the I O D E. Helen is survived by one daughter, Sherri Nagle of Saint John; and one son, Richard (Dick) Anderson of Hampton. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Colleen, Kristen, Rachel and Lauren; and two great-granddaughters, Amanda and Jasmine. Also surviving are sisters, Leta Giggey of Saint John and Elspeth Kreager of Stoughton, SK; and by brothers, Jack Lunnin of North Bay, ON and Eric Lunnin of Edmonton, AB; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Whittaker and Edna Lunnin; and by brothers Robert, Tom and Stuart (Bud) Lunnin . Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday January 19, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m. A Private family graveside service will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
