DEMPSTER, MARLYN GERTRUDE - It is with great sadness and disbelief, that we announce the sudden death of Marlyn Gertrude (Ricketson) Dempster, of Norton, NB, on Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Born on December 27, 1940, Marlyn was the beloved wife to Arnold Dempster who passed away May 21, 2005. Loving mother to her daughters, Karen and husband Stephen Bennett, Whitborne, NL, Kimberly and her husband Ken Brown, Norton. Precious and cherished grandmother to her grandchildren, Katie (Brown) and her husband Jonathan Ferris, Kellie Brown, Andrew and Allyson Bennett. Treasured sister to her brother, Ralph and Marilyn Ricketson; sisters, Thelma Trites, Bertha Watters and Grace McLaughlin; sister-in-law to Clara Ricketson, Margaret Ricketson, Louise Mitchell, Irene (Peter) Owen, Sharon (Stephen) Chase, Sandra (Paul) Walsh, and Joe Dempster; mother-in-law, Cora Dempster. She was predeceased by brother, Joe and Harold Ricketson and sister, Hazel Green. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She loved each one of them deeply and unconditionally. Mary loved to quilt. She enjoyed playing cards for hours. She loved camping, the outdoors, travelling, and being with her friends and family. She loved music and enjoyed going to music concerts and blue grass festivals. She loved life and cherished it greatly. She is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home (839-2156), Norton, with visiting Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral service, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007 from Apohaqui Community Church. Interment will be in the Riverbank Cemetery in the spring.
