EGBERT ROELOF (ROY) KIPPERS
KIPPERS, EGBERT ROELOF (ROY), SR - died peacefully, suddenly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 17th, 2007. He died as he had lived: relaxed, in control, and ready to take us by surprise. Always remarkable, impossible to forget, sincere, compassionate, eloquent, passionate, creative, courageous, resilient, handsome, smart, generous and unique. A teacher, furniture maker, counselor, ambulance attendant, refinery operator, orator, marine, farmhand, artist, stamp collector, reader, writer, dancer, smoker, provider and lover. An inspiration to many, a believer in miracles, a non-conformist. He remained always thankful to the Canadian Liberators of the Netherlands. Much loved son, brother, husband, father, opa and friend. Survived by sisters, Sijgje (Gerrit), Willemien (Alex); and brother, Lodewijk (Gladys); by his one and only love, Hendrien, dedicated and beloved wife of 50 years; ten children, Ernst (Laurie), Yolanda (David), Roy (Sara), Michael (Lisa), Mary Jane, Violet Ann, Lucy (Kirby), Dennis, Steven (Jacqueline) and Karen; 25 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Also his constant and faithful companions, Zena and LaCata. Predeceased by son, Reintje; brother, Marinus; a nephew, Hendrick Jan; and parents, Jan and Geesje Kippers-Bruins.
