FREDERICK RENE DAVIS
DAVIS, FREDERICK RENE - The death of Frederick Rene Davis occurred Saturday January 20th, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1932 in Saint John he was the son of the late Rene and Emily (Doucet) Davis. Survived by two sons, Stephen Davis, Saint John, Kevin Davis (Linda), Upper Golden Grove; two daughters, Karen Brown (Shane), Saint John and Krista O'Brien, Quispamsis; one brother, Peter Perry (Linda); and three sisters, Louise Brown (Bernard), Geraldine Lanteigne (Joe) and Sandra James (Ronnie); five grandchildren, who were his pride and joy Matthew, Nicholas and Isabella Brown, Kimberly and Katelyn Davis; brother-in-laws, Arlie, Lee and Willard; sister-in-laws, Dorothy, Helen, Anne and Larraine; several nieces, nephews and friends; special long time friend, Ellen Hooley and her family Raymond Hooley (Cathy), Andrea Gilmore (Barry), Margie Ellis (Randy), John Hooley (Melanie), Janice Smith (Bob) and Ellen's grandchildren. Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his step-father, Alfred Perry; two brothers, John and Bill Perry; sister, Doris Perry and his son-in-law, Doug O'Brien, Jr. Fred worked as a foreman for Lantic Sugar Refinery for 47 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #2 Westside Branch. With a good sense of humor, wisdom, courage and strength he raised a family of four after the death of his wife Joyce (Ganong) Davis. In his retirement he enjoyed going to the movies, playing cards, bowling, fishing and hunting at the Silver Hills Lodge. Fred was an amazing grandfather and loved all of his grandchildren, spending time with family and friends was always very important. All who knew him will miss Fred. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, January 22nd, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, January 23rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated from St. Anne's Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
