MCARTHUR,E. MARGERY (1912-2007) - The death of Edith Margery McArthur, wife of the late Donald McArthur of Fredericton, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on February 18th, 2007. Born December 1st, 1912 in Hornby, England, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Clifton) Beck. At the age of seventeen, Margery and her family came to Canada and settled in Central Blissville. In June of 1940 Margery married Donald McArthur and they made their home in Fredericton. Margery loved to knit and crochet, and over the years donated many of these items to the church craft sales. Margery is survived by one daughter, Donna Pollock of Fredericton; one granddaughter Andrea Dilworth (David) of Fredericton; two great-grandsons, Zachary and Jacob. She is also survived by three sisters, Ursula Gray of Saint John, Kathleen Cormier of Guelph, Ontario and Joyce Hamilton (Milt) of Milton, Ontario; four brothers, Frank Beck (Sandra) of St. Stephen, Geoffrey Beck (Joyce) of Warminster, Ontario, Ronald Beck of Carp, Ontario, and Brian Beck of Hamilton, Ontario, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Margery was predeceased by one son Douglas; four sisters, Barbara Jones, Margaret Gilbey, Olive Cleal, and Gladys Kirkpatrick; two brothers, Joseph and John Beck, her stepmother, Phyllis Beck, and her son-in-law, John Pollock. Visitation will take place at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton on Thursday, February 22nd, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place on February 23rd, 2007 at 2:00 PM from St. Margaret's Anglican Church with Canon Jon Lownds officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
