89 Glace Bay/Albert Bridge It is with great sadness that we announce the passing Rachel Lipkus, Wednesday, April 16, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, at Taigh Na Mara. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Sholom and Elka (Evens) Cohen, and was member of the Congregation Sons of Israel and Hebrew Ladies Aid. Rachel is survived by sons, Barry (Davida), Toronto, Ont., Sidney (Valerie), Albert Bridge; grandchildren, Michelle, Andrew, Ashley and Carol; great-grandson, Ryan; brother, Manson. Besides her parents Rachel was also predeceased by her husband, Ben, brothers, George, Sam and Max, sisters, Bessie and Mae. Funeral service for the late Rachel Lipkus will be held Friday, April 19, at 9 a.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520.
