BANKS, NORMA MILDRED - (76) of White Head Island went to be with the Lord after a period of failing health on Wednesday morning, February 21st, 2007 at the Grand Manan Hospital with her children by her side. Born at North Head she was the daughter of the late Wellington and Doris (Dunbar) Lambert. When she married Sherwin in 1952, Norma made her life in the beautiful community of White Head. Being a Christian, she was a devoted member of the White Head Baptist Church, Norma enjoyed and loved the blessings in her life, whether it was caring for her family, spending time with them and watching them grow, tending her garden, or just feeding and watching birds come and go out in the yard. She appreciated life and looked forward to her new life with Christ and will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her until they meet her again. She is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Mark) Colwell, Ann (Phillip) Colwell; one son, Rev. John (Carrie) Banks all of White Head Island, NB.; two brothers, Judson (Eileen) Lambert of Brockville, ON, Herbert (Faith) Lambert of North Head, NB; one sister-in-law, Marilyn (Laurent) Thibodeau of Meteghan, NS; one brother-in-law, Richard Brooks of White Head, NB; seven grandchildren; four great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Sherwin; and one sister, Molly Myring. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the White Head Baptist Church, and the Funeral Service will take place from the Church on Saturday February 24th, 2007 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jim Appleby officiating. Interment will follow in the White Head Community Cemetery. The family has requested that donations be made to the White Head Baptist Church Building Fund.
