BAKER, JOYCE ELIZABETH - Joyce Baker, New Bern, NC, died February 22, 2007 at the age of 75. Joyce was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, New Bern and was born and educated in Saint John, NB, Canada. Following graduation from Business College, she held positions with a legal firm and both the provincial and federal governments before her most important full time responsibility as mother of three children. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William Baker of the home; two daughters, Susan Baker of Wall, NJ, and Nancy Baker of Ocean, NJ; one son, Timothy Baker and his wife Tamera of Westford, MA; one sister, Doris Bevans, Saint John, NB; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Alaina and Jillian Baker, Tyler and Josh Haughey; seven nieces and two nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM, March 1, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church, New Bern with the Reverend William Hawkins officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church Memorial Garden. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the Session House. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 418 New St., New Bern, NC 28560, American Heart Association or any health care organization of your choice.
